Smiles & more generations

I have decided to unveil my smile a lot now. It is pretty easy to get me to smile, coo and do my beginnings of a laugh. Sometimes I play Mr. Bashful and after I flash a smile, I look away to look extra super cute. Today we went to visit my Great Gigi (Dad’s Grandmother) in Hamilton. I even smiled for that generations picture with Gammie, Dad & Great Gigi. Gammie walked around with me, singing David Bowie and I fell asleep in her arms.

2nd Cousins!

Yesterday my 2nd cousins Reese and Avalon, their mom Jen and grandmother Holly came. So did cousin Simon, Leila, Topher, Nana Wills and Gramma and Grampa! It was a busy day. Dad set up a photo shoot and Mom tried to get a shot of all 4 kids together. Simon was napping and it was hard to get the rest of us to all co operate at the same time. Luckily Dad knows how to use photoshop and he managed to pull a good shot of each of us and put them all into one picture. Here is the final product as well as a video of the process of trying to get the photo. It was pretty funny stuff! Generations

This weekend we went to visit Gramma and Grampa in Fenelon Falls. That is 3 hours away from our house! I slept the whole drive there and back. It was a great weekend. My cousin Simon was there and we spent a lot of time together. He is really nice and seemed pretty interested in touching me. He was gentle so it was ok with me. We also got to visit with my Great Granna who is 92 years old! We took a four generations picture to commemorate the moment. Cousins Kerry and Persis and my grandparents friends Rob and Carol came to visit as well so I got to meet a whole pile of new people!

Weigh in

Today is a little bit of a sad day. Today was our last appointment with our midwife Alison. (6 week checkup) She was so wonderful to me and my Mom and we will miss her a lot. The happy and good news, however, is that I weighed in at 13 lbs 10 oz! Mom was pretty sure I was over 13 lbs but holy cow, not that much over! No wonder Gramma said I was getting hard to carry around.

My brothers

At first they were a little weirded out by my arrival but now my brothers, Trevor and Boo, seem to be used to me. They even sit with me and Mom sometimes and they sleep in bed with us at night! When I am mega crying they take off but other than that, I think they are used to me now and we are going to be great friends.

This week I went on my first restaurant excursion and slept the whole time. I also went on a winter hike…and slept the whole time. Hey - I am a growing baby, I need my sleep! Here are some generic pictures of me from the last week.

Sleeping

I sleep in my own little bed in between my parents at night. It allows Mom to feed me throughout the night faster. Here is a funny story that the picture below depicts perfectly. (Dad and I are actually sleeping in this picture, it is not staged!) Sometimes, well most of the time, I spit up quite a bit after I eat. At night I do not spit up as soon after eating because I fall asleep. Mom puts me back in my bed and I spit up as I sleep. As you can see by the picture I like to face to my left when I sleep which is the side Dad sleeps on. Twice now I have projectile vomited right onto him and his pillow. Oops! Mom wanted me to post this second picture. I often sleep with my arms up like this.

Getting stronger

My neck is really getting strong. I like to tilt it backward and look all around me. It still flops forward every once and a while if I am not careful but I hold it up and back for quite a while. Dad can hold my back to get me sitting or standing but I tell him not to hold my neck because I can do it myself! Last night I had such a super sleep. I slept from 8:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. and then from 1:30 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. I still need to eat in between because I am growing so Mom is pretty happy with this arrangement for now!

Morning baby

I am a morning baby. Can you guess if it is Mom or Dad that gets up with me?! I am also a big boy now. Here is a picture of me at 6:15 am in a big boy outfit. No more sleepers for me!
