Solids

Today I had my first taste of ‘real’ food. I had baby cereal for breakfast!  I did a really good job and ate most of it.  Mom suspected I was ready because I am always grabbing for people’s drinks when they are holding me and I find it very interesting to watch people eating meals. I am excited to find out what they are going to feed me next!

This past week I went to visit Gramma and Grampa. We went in the boat again. The water was a little choppy so there were some little sprays of water hitting my face.  I thought it was funny!  I also went to Hamilton because Gammie babysat me for the evening because Mom and Dad went to a wedding. We had lots of fun and Great Gigi was there too!

Sleep

This past week Mom and Dad have been ’sleep training’ me.  They cut out one of the night time feeds which turns out I did not need anyway and they are trying to get me to have better naps.  It seems backwards but the better and longer I nap during the day, the better I will sleep at night. Yesterday was my best day yet. I had three naps and two of them were well over an hour! That is a really big deal for me because I usually only nap for 1/2 an hour at a time. I am starting to wake up less during the night too so that is good. It takes time but I really am trying my best.

Since there aren’t pictures to go along with sleep training I thought I would post these of me peeking over the side of the couch at the cottage.

The cottage

We just got back from renting a cottage on Kushog Lake and it was a lot of fun! I had a cold for half of the week so I felt a little crummy for part of it but I still managed to flash my famous Hawksley Shaver smile and watch Simon crawl every where. I was watching very closely and taking notes for when I am ready to try that! We went in Gramma and Grampa’s boat which was a lot of fun, went for walks in Simon’s double stroller, watched the ducks swim around our shore, swung in the hammock and we also went into the lake! It was a little chilly but it was a neat first experience nonetheless. (If you are wondering why I am not wearing a life jacket in the boat it is because they do not make them for babies my size! I am just a tad too small still. Mommy and Daddy held on really tight.)
