Two cute for words
This past week, Mom and I went to visit Gramma and Grampa for a few days. Simon and Aunt Leila were visiting too! We had lots of fun together chasing each other and CJ the cat down the long hall, playing kitchen at our table and chair set, watching videos and eating puffs together and visiting Great Granna. We are such a great pair!
Simon might not be so happy that I have put this picture on the blog.
Learning to cook and sit in a chair!
Watching videos on Aunt Leila’s Mac and eating (trying to share) puffs.
Here I am exploring the long hallways and many open doors in the building where Great Granna lives.
This is me being silly trying Mom’s glasses on.
Mom wanted me to put this picture on because she thinks it is super cute.

Family Day
Yesterday was different because it was a weekday and Dad was home. It said Family Day on the calendar. It was great because Dad came to swimming lessons with us! Mom decided to stay out of the water and take pictures. WARNING: She went totally overboard on the pictures so I am posting a lot this time.

Hawksley’s rant
Something has been happening quite a bit lately that is getting a little bit annoying! Adults keep calling me a little girl. I don’t know about you, but I think I look like a (handsome) little boy, not a (cute) little girl! So what if I have thick, long and beautiful eyelashes. So what if I have enormous brown eyes. So what if my hair is getting a little bit long in places (though I am never wearing a bow or clip in it). So what, when we go to the Early Years Centre I play with the kitchen and tea set. So what if I really like Mommy’s purse. I certainly do not wear pink clothes. In fact, most of my clothes are navy, green or brown. Mommy says there is supposed to be a rule in place where you don’t specify the sex of a baby until you know for sure in case you do guess wrong. I guess not all Mom’s and Dad’s get that memo Anyway..I look forward to when people stop making that mistake. I am a BOY!
Here is an example of my beautiful eyelashes, eyes and hair.
Here I hanging out the boys. 4 generations of us!

Playpens aren’t so bad…
when you have someone to share it with! Yesterday was my One Year appointment (and shots, yikes!) with our family doctor in Milton. Whenever we have a doctor’s appointment in Milton, we try to visit with Claire and Simon. Simon was skiing this week in Vermont (with a broken arm and everything!) so we went over to Claire’s house. While Mommy and her cousin’s Kristen and Neale had lunch and chatted, Claire and I hung out in the playpen together. It was great! I got to take my shoes and socks off without Mommy hassling me and play with Claire’s toys. Everytime she picked one up to play with it, I decided that was the toy I wanted so I would take it and then show her the proper way to play with it. It sure is great having cousins!

Happy Birthday to me!
My birthday was Friday. It was awesome because Dad had a snow day so we all spent the day together, just like 1 year ago! The next day was my birthday party. Everybody was so generous and it was great to have everyone there. I was tired around the middle of the afternoon, however, and got a wee bit cranky. The traditional 1st birthday cake thing was not going to happen. Mom and Dad set it up the next day instead to take pictures. I think they really believe that they will forget what happened and that it actually happened on the same day like it was supposed to.
This is what happened when Mom tried to put the birthday hat on me. I thought I would reinact the birthday party for her.
This is the awesome cake topper Gammie made for me. It is a tribute to my love of vacuuming. She also made the amazing birthday cake.
Here is me opening some of my presents. Thank you everyone!
