The cottage
We just got back from renting a cottage on Kushog Lake and it was a lot of fun! I had a cold for half of the week so I felt a little crummy for part of it but I still managed to flash my famous Hawksley Shaver smile and watch Simon crawl every where. I was watching very closely and taking notes for when I am ready to try that! We went in Gramma and Grampa’s boat which was a lot of fun, went for walks in Simon’s double stroller, watched the ducks swim around our shore, swung in the hammock and we also went into the lake! It was a little chilly but it was a neat first experience nonetheless. (If you are wondering why I am not wearing a life jacket in the boat it is because they do not make them for babies my size! I am just a tad too small still. Mommy and Daddy held on really tight.)

Hawksley, it looks like you had a good time up at the cottage. Grampa and I had fun the day we visited you. I’m glad we were able to take you for your first boat ride. Next year will be even more fun!!!

Well Hawksley, Gammie finally saw the icon where you can leave a comment all the time! I look at your website every day. You make me smile everytime I see your smile and always cheer up my day. I get to show you off to everyone at work too, which makes me proud. Also, when I show Uncle Eric, it makes him smile - which at his teen”age” grumpy-stage is rare. You look like you had so much fun on your vacation. It reminds me of when I took your dad to Lake Erie for his first vacation when he was about the same age as you are here. We also had your dad’s cousin Ryan with us, just like you have Simon with you.

Great pictures Laura - that is great you were able to get away and enjoy summer! We are hoping to get away to Kingston next week for a couple of days. We will have to come to Kitchener soon for a lunch date!
