Big, scary (or not so scary) dinosaurs!
I love dinosaurs. I have dinosaur books, dinosaur figures and we even went to the movie theatre for the first time to see a Dinosaur movie called Ice Age! I loved it. The other day, on our way to Hamilton to visit Gammie, we stopped at a place that had BIG HUGE dinosaurs! i went pretty close to the Stegosaurus and T-Rex but the Brontosaurus was so big I had to tilt my head up as high as I could to see his face. He was a little scary so I kept my distance.
I saw some other creatures this week as well. We went to African Lion Safari. We had monkey’s jump on our car!
I fed some goats. I really enjoyed that and kept asking Dad to get another quarter so we could get more food for them!
Best of all, I rode on an elephant! Mom couldn’t believe that I wanted to. (I don’t know why. The elephant Jenny that we rode on is only 9 ft tall and 9000 lbs!) It was really cool to be up so high and to feel the elephants head.

Hi everyone - I’m posting the same email to both Simon and Isla’s blog and Hawksley’s since it pertains to all.
What a joy to watch Simon, Hawksley and Isla in their various videos, and to read the updates. The children are so happy and delighted with life (as well as delightful), with such a heartfelt joie de vivre. (A good reminder to we adults to get down and enjoy life like a child does.) I laughed and smiled my way throughout.
Rob and I just had a wonderful visit with Janet and Ross, Christopher, Leila, Simon and Isla, and Laura, Cameron and Hawksley, at their rented cottage on Bay Lake near Bancroft. Ralph and Gene, and family friend Bill were with us as well.
The children were amazing, and so much fun to visit with. Isla was crawling all over the place, with the laughs and smiles she is so generous with.
I felt honoured that Simon chose me as one of his special women friends. He would call out to me, “Friend, let’s make a barbeque.” “Friend, let’s…….”
Hawksley was so confident swimming around with Gramma Janet in his little yellow boat.
I love seeing my “little” nephew (Christopher) and niece (Laura)all grown up and doing such a fine job parenting along with Leila and Cameron.
We had wonderful food, great talks, good weather, fun playing with the kids, wonderful swims and beaching, some good electronic moments (true confession: you should have seen all the BBs, iPods, laptops, etc.) Ross took some folk out for a boat ride. It was hard to pull myself away. Great memories and joyful times.
Mom/Granna would have been so happy, seeing so many of her family together. Our get together at Janet’s and Ross’ cottage followed a service for the interment of mom’s ashes. Isla was a joy throughout, laughing, smiling and blowing bubbles.
Simon and Hawksley helped to bury the “treasure”. (We were a little concerned that they might come back when they’re older with a treasure map to find the buried treasure!!!)
No seriously, it was a lovely little ceremony which Ralph officiated over, and felt joyous and celebratory in large part because of the little children in a way that would have made mom and dad happy.
Thanks for a wonderful day and love to all,
Holly
